For the last several years 'Sami Johnson Design' has been an ambiguous title for the work I've done on the side for friends, family, and business associates and usually only appeared on invoices and tax returns.

Since graduating in 2011 from Pratt Institute with a bachelors degree in Interior Design, again something that always felt like an ambiguous title to define my career by, I sought to work within the realm of architecture on interior renovations in New York City. My first job opened the door to new ways of looking at design and how I approached the rest of my career and life choices. I realized quickly that not many people are given this type of opportunity or freedom so early on.

For 3 1/2 years I continued to work in interior architecture, designing spaces, managing projects, working directly with clients, consultants and outside vendors. Many hats were worn in this short time. I could go on but it can get boring for some.

Life brought me to New Orleans in 2014 and with some mixed emotions I found myself again pursuing architecture and project management positions. After a little over a year of swimming in uncertainty I came to the sudden realization while sitting in my office's parking lot that I already had the answer right in front of me, and it involved a little piece of paper charging services by Sami Johnson Design.

And so here we are. I have a multitude of tools and skills at my disposal and I am always looking for new ways to approach and elevate my work. I am forever open to new endeavors so please do no hesitate to contact me with questions!
